The Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage brings you the sixth annual Solstice Tree Tour: A unique Alaskan celebration of Winter Solstice and the return of longer days!

As a northern community, we need events that encourage all ages and abilities to get outside and celebrate the winter solstice, especially in the middle of a pandemic. We have modified the event to create a COVID friendly atmosphere for local businesses to sponsor and decorate trees on some of the most loved trails in Anchorage. NSAA will open the Kincaid Mize’s Loop trail to all users for one day only. There will be lots of people on the trails, please leave dogs at home.

All the community members can enjoy walking through the winter wonderland on trails that are normally only accessed by skiers. This is a very popular, family friendly event, bringing together all ages, levels of fitness, and outdoor enthusiasts.

COVID-19 Mitigation Plan

NSAA will follow all CDC guidelines and adhere to any changes of the Anchorage municipal code. Currently there is no mandatory COVID restrictions with any of our outdoor programs. For indoors masking is welcome and optional for any families making that choice. If any health climate changes, NSAA may update and change this policy.

If you are positive with COVID or have any symptoms please stay home and do not participate in any NSAA activities or events until recovered. Please follow CDC guidelines for return to activities.

Businesses can choose their own decorations and can include lights, ornaments, ribbons, etc. Get creative!! After touring the loop, participants will have the opportunity to vote on the best tree.
